Who's up and who's down

By Mike Reiss

HOUSTON -- A look at who's up and who's down from the Patriots' 34-27 loss to the Texans:

Julian Edelman -- Receiver fills in for Wes Welker and finishes with a career-high 10 receptions for 103 yards, production the Patriots will be counting on in the playoffs.

Stephen Gostkowski -- Kicker hits field goals of 51 and 43 yards, with the 51-yarder his second longest of the season.

Bill Belichick --
Decision to rotate quarterbacks is a head-scratcher, especially at the end of the game in the two-minute drill.

Offensive line -- Pass protection seems more inconsistent, as defensive end Mario Williams creates havoc on the edge.

Fourth-quarter defense -- Patriots give up 21 points in the fourth quarter, as the defense runs out of gas once again. The Patriots have been outscored 65-17 in the fourth quarter/overtime of their six losses this season.
