Opinion: 3rd round pick a bit light
By Mike Reiss
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports Wednesday morning that the Patriots will receive a 2011 third-round draft choice from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for receiver Randy Moss, according to a league source.
That seems a bit light unless the Patriots had chemistry/off-field concerns in mind with Moss.
It is not often that a team trades its top playtime receiver in the fifth week of the season and receives a third-round pick in return unless there is more to the story.
Bill Belichick often says that he makes every decision with the best interests of the football team in mind. With this in mind, how does trading Moss make the Patriots better in 2010?
