Belichick & South Florida Pro Day

By Mike Reiss

Patriots coach Bill Belichick is in attendance at South Florida's Pro Day today, according to NFLDraftBible.com. Belichick annually tours Florida at this time of year, and had most recently been in New Orleans for the NFL's annual meeting.

One of South Florida's top prospects this year is defensive lineman Terrell McClain. At 6-foot-2 and 297 pounds, McClain would likely project to nose tackle in the Patriots' 3-4 alignment, but could possibly offer some position flexibility to kick out to end. According to the Pro Football Weekly draft guide, McClain had "impressed at the East-West Shrine Game before a hamstring injury prevented him from participating at the Senior Bowl."

McClain played in 49 games (33 starts) over his four-year career at South Florida. NFLDraftBible rates him as highly as a second-round pick.

According to agent David Canter, Belichick put South Florida's Dontavia Bogan and other wide receivers through "unique" positional drills as part of the workout.
