Matt Light on ESPN Boston Radio
By Mike Reiss
Patriots left tackle Matt Light was a guest on ESPNBoston radio today, with host Adam Jones. Light was promoting next Tuesday's "Lockout Breakfast", which will include teammates Logan Mankins and Vince Wilfork (tickets are still available).
In the interview, Light, who is the Patriots' player representative, touched on how this offseason has been unique along with some of the recent issues with the lockout. He also addressed his status as his contract expired after the 2010 season.
"I guess I really don't feel like a free agent, considering the fact that we haven't been able to go through the normal process," Light said. "I would have loved to have gotten a deal done, and signed an extension, or been able to stay in New England, but there is obviously a lot more going on than my case. It makes for a very interesting time. ... I don't have any clue as to how it will all eventually work out."
Light said he hopes to stay in New England, but "when you get to this point in your career, you obviously want to do what's best for your family, take the best deal you can get, and go out there and play hard and hopefully end it up on a solid note. That's kind of what I'm looking for."
