Source: Ellis deal worth $4M-plus
It's not hard to figure out why defensive lineman Shaun Ellis decided to sign with the Patriots over the Jets: A source tells ESPN's John Clayton that while New York offered him a one-year deal worth $910,000, New England's deal is worth $4 million, with an additional $1 million in incentives.
The Patriots on Monday officially announced the free-agents deals with Ellis and fellow defensive lineman Andre Carter. We reported both of those signings on Sunday.
