Report: Patriots work out LB Koutouvides
By Mike Rodak
The Patriots had veteran free agent linebacker Niko Koutouvides in for a workout on Monday, according to Adam Caplan of Sirius-XM Radio.
Known as a special teams-focused player, the 30-year old Koutouvides has played in 146 career games for the Buccaneers, Broncos, and Seahawks. In 2008, Koutouvides was coached in Denver by then-Broncos and current Patriots special teams coach Scott O'Brien.
By working out Koutouvides (6-foot-2, 238 pounds), the Patriots are likely looking for another special teams option and reserve linebacker to compete with recently re-signed veteran Tracy White.
