3 up, 3 down for the Patriots
By Mike Reiss
DETROIT -- A look at three players whose performance stood out, and three who were on the opposite end of the spectrum:

Julian Edelman -- Provides a spark in the punt (26 yards) and kickoff return (32 yards) games.
Aaron Hernandez -- Tight end comes up big on third down; leads the team with 5 catches for 46 yards.
Zoltan Mesko -- It's usually not a good day when your punter shows up in this category (6 for 253 yards, 42.2 avg., 36.8 net, two inside the 20).
Tom Brady -- Quarterback is pressured throughout and misses several throws he usually makes (12 of 22 for 145 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT).
Offensive line -- The Lions' defensive front controls the game, making life tough on Brady.
Entire defense -- To pick just one player doesn't seem fair. Everyone had a part in this ugly outcome, as the frustration boils over onto the field.
