Welcome to Gillette Stadium

Mike Reiss/ESPN BostonFOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the New England Patriots host the New York Giants in their final preseason battle (WBZ, 7:30 p.m. ET).
A view of Gillette Stadium from the press box.
Weather conditions: Much like the preseason opener against Jacksonville, it's a beautiful night for football. According to Weather.com, temperatures will drop from the mid-70's to the mid-50's tonight with only a few clouds and a light breeze (winds at 7 mph).
Triplette gets the call: Tonight's referee is Jeff Triplette, now in his 15th year as an official.

Players not expected to play: As previously noted in the blog, it would be a surprise to see the likes of Dan Connolly and Wes Welker, two players shaken up in last week's loss against the Lions, on the field tonight.
Scouts in the house: Reflecting that it's the final preseason game and it's unlikely regulars will play much (if at all), there are scouts from only six teams in the building, one of which is the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts (with the next cutdown looming, some will certainly find employment north of the border). The NFL teams in attendance: Bills, Dolphins, Rams, Raiders, and Redskins (the Patriots play all but the Rams this season).
National anthem: Tonight's anthem will be sung by Mix 104.1 morning host Kennedy Elsey.
Brady the coverboy: Quarterback Tom Brady graces the cover of tonight's GameDay program.
9/11 ceremony: With the Patriots on the road in Week 1, New England will hold a 9/11 ceremony before the game. More details HERE.
