ANALYSIS: At receiver, Matthew Slater entered the game before Brandon Tate and showed up with a 64-yard catch-and-run in the first quarter. Slater was part of two- and three-receiver sets, playing on drives 2, 3 and 4, while Tate came on for drives 5 and 6. ... At tight end, rookie free agent Will Yeatman once again saw time before fifth-round pick Lee Smith. On the first offensive play, when the Patriots went with a power package with three tight ends, Yeatman was called on to join Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. ... Nate Solder started at right tackle in place of Sebastian Vollmer (did not dress) and then flipped to left tackle when the second unit came on. ... Rich Ohrnberger started at right guard, then moved to center with the second unit. ... RB Shane Vereen's first playing time came with the second unit, when QB Brian Hoyer replaced Tom Brady with 7:03 remaining in the second quarter.
