Soundbites from the Bills
By Mike Reiss
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- A few soundbites from Bills players and coaches:
Coach Chan Gailey
"If you're going to be successful you've got to win tough ballgames in hard environments against good football teams, and they're a good football team. I credit our defense, got four interceptions. I mean, that just doesn't happen against New England. You have to have mental toughness to play in those games. We're getting closer. Now, how do we handle prosperity? That'll be the next step for us."
LB Chris Kelsay
"It's the best [victory] of my career. Regardless of if it's Week 3 or the last game of the season, I've never been to the postseason ... We played these guys 17 times and only won one until today. It's awesome. Any time you can beat a great team like that, a great coaching staff like that, you're going to enjoy it."
RB Fred Jackson
"We're excited. It's been 15 games. I'm sure everybody is aware of that and we're all aware of it. We just took a huge monkey off our backs."
CB Drayton Florence
"They got up on us early, but we've proven each and every week that we're going to play until the end. It's time for those past Buffalo Bill memories to fade away. This is a new era, a new day. Everybody outside this room is calling this an upset, but in this locker room, this is what we expect."
DB Bryan Scott
"It's kind of like a boxing match. A great boxer is going to get his punches in. He's going to get his licks in. You've got to take it and you've got to keep standing and you've got to fight back. We knew coming into the game they were going to move the ball on us and they were going to score points. But we were able to kind of hang in there and stick to it until the end."
WR Stevie Johnson
"It's even better for the fans, not just us. We know we've got a ton of games to go, but just for the fans to say 'We beat the New England Patriots', that's something big."
