Patriots cut Ventrone, activate Cannon
By Chris Forsberg
The Patriots formally activated rookie offensive lineman Marcus Cannon from the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday and released safety Ross Ventrone (yet again) to make room on the 53-man active roster.
New England also re-signed rookie cornerback Malcolm Williams to fill the practice squad spot left by Ventrone's promotion to the active roster in advance of Sunday's game against the Jets.
