"Carter played very well for the Patriots last year before getting hurt [Dec. 18]," Williamson writes. "His career path is very distinct in that he plays very well when playing defensive end in a 4-3 and struggles at outside linebacker in a 3-4, which is a role he has unfortunately been thrust into at times. It seems likely that Carter is back in New England."
"Teams are always looking for a good bell cow running back, and Green-Ellis is by far the best candidate for that role in this year's free-agent crop," Joyner writes. "He is young (will be 27 years old in July), doesn't have much wear and tear (only 510 career carries), is durable (hasn't missed a game in the past two years) and has never fumbled the ball in his NFL career."
