Schefter: Surgery scheduled for Gronk
By Field Yates
After breaking his forearm in the closing minutes of the Patriots' Week 11 victory over the Colts, tight end Rob Gronkowski is set to have surgery, a source told ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
The timetable for an exact return to the field remains unknown, but it is not believed to be a season-ending injury, Schefter added.
The injury occurred on the final extra point attempt by the Patriots, at which point Gronkowski had already been removed from the game on offense.
In 10 games this season, Gronkowski has 53 catches for 748 and 10 touchdowns. On Sunday, he became the first tight end in NFL history to record three straight seasons with 10 or more receiving touchdowns.
