Penalty watch: Double trouble
By Mike Reiss
When updating this week's "penalty watch" from Sunday's win over the Colts, a noticeable theme emerged: The penalties came in twos.
1. Cornerback Kyle Arrington had one penalty in the first nine games of the season, before picking up two in a 10-play span in the first quarter.
2. Left tackle Nate Solder had two penalties in the first nine games of the season and was called for two in a span of seven plays in the second quarter.
3. Linebacker Jerod Mayo, who had been penalized three times in the first nine games of the season, was called for two penalties (illegal contact, roughing the passer).
The full breakdown of the season (includes declined penalties):
Kyle Arrington drew the ire of the Colts for this hit on QB Andrew Luck, though no flag was thrown.
