McCourty: Talib has been 'great teammate'
Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty was on The Herd on ESPN Radio on Tuesday afternoon (listen HERE) and was asked about new teammate Aqib Talib, who was added at the trade deadline and has played in New England's past two games. Prior to that, he had been serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing substance policy.
"I truly believe you don't judge somebody off what you hear or what other people say," McCourty said. "Since he's been here he's been a great teammate. He's helped us out on the field and in the locker room. He's been a good addition to our team."
McCourty was also asked how the Patriots stay motivated down the stretch knowing a playoff berth is all but wrapped up.
"We know as players the season is a long season," he said, "and if you don't get better each week somebody else passes you and it makes it harder for you."
Over the last three seasons, the Patriots are a perfect 19-0 in the second half of the regular season schedule, including 8-0 stretches in 2010 and 2011 and a 3-0 start to the second half this season.
