UConn CB linked to Pats in mock

By Field Yates

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay has released his third mock draft of the year, and he has a player in mind for the Patriots at No. 29 whose stock he says improved since the end of the college season: cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson out of Connecticut.

McShay cites size, toughness, instincts and intangibles among Wreh-Wilson's strengths, but notes that his 40 time in the 4.5's may ultimately push him out of the first round.

The two-time team captain officially ran a 4.53 at the NFL combine, and checked in at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. He had a vertical jump of 36 inches and also ran an impressive 4.12 in the 20-yard shuttle.

Wreh-Wilson totaled 8 interceptions for the Huskies during his college career.

Cornerback is a major area of need for the Patriots this offseason, with Aqib Talib likely to test free agency and Alfonzo Dennard awaiting sentencing for two charges stemming from an April 2012 incident. We haven't heard much of Wreh-Wilson's name relating to the first round to this point, but McShay has just two other cornerbacks ahead of him in his latest projection.
