Amendola: 'Going pretty well'
By Mike Rodak
DORCHESTER, Mass. -- It still may take time for fans to get used to the remodeled New England Patriots offense, but count wide receiver Danny Amendola among those players who are beginning to settle into their new environment.
"It's been going pretty well," Amendola said Wednesday. "We've got a couple weeks under our belt with OTAs and whatnot. So far, so good."
The past three weeks of organized team activities have given Amendola and quarterback Tom Brady a chance to develop chemistry at a position where Brady has few holdovers from last season.
"He's a legend," Amendola said of Brady. "He's a football mind. He's been in the game for a long time. It's fun to learn from him, and play with him, pick his brain a little bit. It's going to be a good year."
Amendola and several of his teammates, along with owner Robert Kraft, were in Dorchester on Wednesday to promote health and fitness to students at Roger Clap Innovation School as part of the NFL's "Play 60" initiative.
"We're excited to be out here," Amendola said. "The Boston community, obviously, does a great job supporting the team and rooting for the Patriots. It's important to be a part of it."
