Catching up with former Patriots, Week 9

Every Wednesday during the season, we'll lead off the day with a quick recap of some notable former New England Patriots players and their standing with new teams.
Jake Ballard (Cardinals)
Tight end is signed on Nov. 4.
Season snapshot: Was cut by the Patriots at the end of training camp and had been out of work since. The Patriots worked him out Nov. 3.
Patrick Chung (Eagles) Although not in the starting lineup, he is credited with five tackles and one pass defended in a 49-20 road win over the Raiders.
Season snapshot: Has started four of nine games and is credited with 25 tackles.
Brandon Deaderick (Jaguars) Bye week.
Season snapshot: Has played 202 total snaps, totaling seven tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery, and one pass defended.
Greg Salas (Jets) Leads the team with 57 receiving yards (2 catches) in a 26-20 home win over the Saints. Plays 28 of 61 offensive snaps.
Season snapshot: Signed off Eagles' practice squad on Oct. 15 and makes debut Nov. 3 vs. Saints.
Zach Sudfeld (Jets) Plays 49 of 61 snaps in a 26-20 home win over the Saints and finishes with two catches for 46 yards.
Season snapshot: Wearing jersey No. 82, tight end has played 89 offensive snaps in four games. Has four catches for 56 yards.
Wes Welker (Broncos)
Season snapshot: Receiver has played 461 of 606 offensive snaps (76.0 percent), and has 50 catches for 555 yards and nine touchdowns.
Danny Woodhead (Chargers)
Seven rushes for 21 yards and a team-high nine catches for 77 yards in a 30-24 overtime road loss to the Redskins. Plays 44 of 64 snaps.
Season snapshot: Leads the team with 49 receptions (for 391 yards and 3 TDs), and has carried the ball 53 times for 193 yards and a TD. Has played 259 offensive snaps.
OTHERS: Colts starting guard Donald Thomas landed on season-ending injured reserve in Week 2. ... Defensive end Trevor Scott played four games (54 snaps) with the Buccaneers before he was released Oct. 24. ... Punter Zoltan Mesko was released by the Steelers on Oct. 29 after appearing in seven games and ranking 31st in punting average (42.5) and 29th in net punting average (36.7). ... Quarterback Brian Hoyer started two games for the Browns, leading them to two wins, before tearing his ACL in his third start and landing on season-ending injured reserve. ... Defensive end Jermaine Cunningham spent the month of October with the 49ers but never appeared in a game.
