In the previous post, we checked on how Patriots' offensive receivers have fared in catching balls pitched in their direction. Now it's time to flip the script and take a look at how New England cornerbacks have fared on passes zipped their way by opposing quarterbacks.

These numbers are courtesy of our friends at Pro Football Focus, who tackle the arduous task of maintaining defensive targets stats for every pass thrown. Here's a look at the breakdown:
* Analysis: Teams attacked McCourty through the first three weeks of the season, but he hasn't been picked on nearly as much the past two weeks. A whopping 36 passes went his way through Week 3, with opponents making 24 catches for 378 yards and three scores. Over the past two weeks against the Raiders and Jets, McCourty has been targeted nine times with opponents completing six for a mere 48 yards and no scores... Bodden vs. the Jets: 3 targets, 0 receptions... Arrington was credited with giving up his first score of the season against the Jets. Starting the last two games, he's been targeted 11 times with opponents completing six for 126 yards... The only passes in Molden's direction came in Oakland.
