Sene has season-ending ankle surgery

By ESPNBoston.com

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Revolution forward Saer Sene underwent surgery on his injured left ankle Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the 2013 season. He is expected to need four to six months to rehabilitate the injury, the team said.

Sene, 26, underwent the surgery to repair his broken left fibula and stabilize the left ankle dislocation he suffered in the Revs’ match in Montreal on Oct. 12. Sene suffered the injury on a tough tackle from the Impact's Davy Arnaud.

Sene has appeared in 24 matches this season with the Revs, scoring five goals and adding five assists. Now in his second year with the club, this is the second season in a row that he has suffered a season-ending injury. In August 2012, Sene suffered a left knee injury and underwent ACL surgery.
