PHILADELPHIA -- Tonight's lineup is out and, as expected, it features David Ortiz at first base and Adrian Gonzalez in right field.
After last night's game, Ortiz confirmed that he would be playing first base tonight. Ortiz joked that the club will be losing little defensively with him at first base.
"Those golden hands never leave you,'' he said.
Beyond that, he said he had little to add.
"What am I going to talk about?'' he said. "I haven't played in a month. OK, I'll talk to you tomorrow after I hit a bomb. How about that?''
Apparently Dustin Pedroia isn't sold, at least in the field.
"It will be good for us offensively, but damn, I'm going to have to play second, first and right," Pedroia joked to reporters. "I've got small legs. That's a lot of ground to cover."
Gonzalez has played right field just once as a big-leaguer, while with the Texas Rangers early in his career.
