BOSTON -- Some tickets still remain for this weekend's Sabermetrics, Scouting and the Science of Baseball conference for the Jimmy Fund, being held at Boston University. This is the second year the event has been held.

Among the speakers are Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine; bench coach Tim Bogar; director of professional scouting Jared Porter; director of baseball information services Tom Tippett, ex-MLB general manager and VP of umpires Mike Port. There are many other participants, including Dr. Daniel Brooks, the creator of BrooksBaseball, a tremendous on-line resource, and baseball physicist Dr. Alan Nathan. Seven major-league clubs have pledged to send front-office representatives.
