Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez on Wednesday became the latest member of the Red Sox organization to depict the Yahoo! Sports report of a late-July meeting between Red Sox players and ownership as inaccurate.

According to the report, Gonzalez not only played a role in organizing the meeting, but was one of Valentine’s harshest critics at the meeting itself.

“The source is inaccurate," Gonzalez said. "He says that I was animated and one of the most vocal guys in the meeting, and that's false. If somebody's going to try to be an unnamed source, they better be right with what they say, because this is putting our integrity and everyone about us out there, and that's just unfair."

Like Dustin Pedroia did the night before, Gonzalez said he thinks Valentine isn’t to blame for the team’s struggles.

"I've said this to John Henry. I've said this to Ben Cherington and I've said this to Bobby. I think he's a good manager,” Gonzalez told WEEI.com. "Nobody faults him for losing and that's unfair."
