The Red Sox equipment truck is scheduled to leave Fenway Park for the 1,480-mile trip to Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday at approximately noon.
The truck, which will depart from Fenway Park on Van Ness Street -- adjacent to Gate D -- will be led in procession by a flat-bed truck carrying Wally the Green Monster and Fenway Ambassadors who will be tossing soft Red Sox baseballs to fans.
Fans can see Wally the Green Monster between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Yawkey Way Store next to Fenway.
Spring training information for fans:
• There are still tickets available for select Red Sox spring training games at City of Palms Park. To order spring training or regular-season game tickets, fans can go online to www.redsox.com or call the 24-hour automated ticket line at 888-REDSOX6.
• Shuttle buses between City of Palms Park and the Red Sox player development complex will be available to fans beginning Feb. 20, 2010. Fans who wish to take advantage of the shuttle service can come to City of Palms Park, park their vehicles for free and board shuttle buses in front of the ticket office on Broadway for a fee of $1 each way ($2 roundtrip). There is no public parking at the Red Sox player development complex. Free tours of City of Palms Park, originating from the Team Store, also begin on Feb. 18 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
