The Cardinals exploded for nine runs in the first five innings of Game 6 of the NLCS, cruising to a 9-0 win over the Dodgers and advancing to the World Series.

St. Louis' victory means that Saturday's Game 6 of the ALCS moves to prime time, with first pitch scheduled for 8:07 p.m. ET in Fenway Park, where the Red Sox will try to eliminate the Tigers. (If Los Angeles had won to force an NLCS Game 7, Red Sox-Tigers would have started at 4:07 p.m. Saturday.)

As the NL champion Cardinals wait for the AL pennant winner to emerge, the World Series schedule has already been set.

Game 1 will start at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday in either Boston or Detroit, with Game 2 at the same time and place on Thursday.

Next Friday, Oct. 25 is an off day as the teams travel to St. Louis for Game 3 (Oct. 26, 8:07 p.m.), Game 4 (Oct. 27, 8:15 p.m.) and if necessary Game 5 (Oct. 28, 8:07 p.m.).

The Series would then shift back to the American League entry's city for a potential Game 6 (Oct. 30, 8:07 p.m.) and a Halloween Game 7 (Oct. 31, 8:07 p.m.), if necessary.
