The Red Sox announced Saturday night that they agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with left-handed relief pitcher Andrew Miller, thereby avoiding an arbitration hearing.

Miller's 2013 season ended prematurely when he suffered a freak foot injury that required surgery to repair a Lisfranc ligament. Prior to the injury, Miller was enjoying the best season of his career, posting a 2.64 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 30 2/3 innings.

Miller had been Boston's only remaining unsigned, arbitration-eligible player, so now the Red Sox aren't destined to face any salary arbitration hearings.
