FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The veteran pitchers are scheduled to throw their first official bullpen sessions on Tuesday, although Jake Peavy had yet to see a hand specialist as of midmorning today and may be held back.

The groups scheduled to throw Tuesday are:

John Lackey, Jon Lester, Peavy, Clay Buchholz, Jon Ely

Koji Uehara, Junichi Tazawa, Andrew Miller, Edward Mujica

• Brayan Villareal, Jose Mijares, Francisco Cordero and Tommy Layne

Catchers David Ross, A.J. Pierzynski and Ryan Lavarnway are in one hitting group. Dan Butler, Christian Vazquez and Blake Swihart are in another.

As expected, David Ortiz, Shane Victorino and Jonny Gomes all reported Tuesday morning, giving the Sox a full complement of position players. All 28 position players -- 21 on the 40-man roster, seven non-roster invitees -- are here.

Sox spokesman Gregg said Ortiz will address the media Wednesday morning (dueling news conferences with Derek Jeter?). Victorino held court in front of his locker, and Gomes will address the notebook-and-camera set after Tuesday’s workout.
