As part of its coverage leading into the baseball season, ESPN is utilizing a new project -- ESPN Forecast. The idea, in a nutshell, is to create a diverse panel of people with MLB expertise and then aggregate their predictions and opinions.
The consensus has the Red Sox winning the AL East with a 90-72 record, one game better than the Tampa Bay Rays.
Here's what Buster Olney had to say about the Sox:
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN: Turning the page on Boston's 2013 championship and refocusing for 2014 seems completely reflexive for the Red Sox players, given that a strength of Dustin Pedroia, Mike Napoli et al is to focus on each pitch in each at-bat in each game. They're ready for the next challenge.
