Nava: Only 75 PA, but numbers unforgiving

BOSTON -- By most measures, outfielder Daniel Nava has gotten off to a slow start in his first 75 plate appearances, which led to his demotion to Triple-A Pawtucket Wednesday:

* He was batting .149 overall (10-for-67), the lowest average on the team.

* He was batting .150 (3-for-20) as leadoff man, an experiment John Farrell abandoned on April 7.

* He was batting .095 (2-for-21) vs. left-handers.

* He was batting .121 (4-for-33) with two strikes.

* He was batting .091 (2-for-22) when pitchers were ahead in the count.

* He was batting .091 (1-for-11) with runners in scoring position.
