TORONTO -- Greetings from the Rogers Centre, where 2 hours before the first pitch hundreds of fans were in line to see whether the Blue Jays can avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Red Sox. Actually, they’re here to get first dibs on the R.A. Dickey bobblehead doll ... whatever works.

David Ortiz and Shane Victorino are out of Sunday’s lineup, A. J.Pierzynski is batting cleanup and serving as DH, and Xander Bogaerts, who was hoping he’d be over the flu by now, was back in the lineup at short.

Looks like just a day off for Ortiz and Victorino. Always cracks me up that some fans begrudge guys getting a day off, even if in Victorino’s case you’re talking about a guy the Sox are trying to keep healthy, and three straight games on turf probably is not the best thing for vulnerable hamstrings. As for Ortiz, the meter is at 38 years old, Pierzynski is batting .417 (5-for-12) with a HR against Dickey, and using A. J. as DH allows John Farrell to keep the Jon Lester/David Ross combo together.

Here’s the lineup:

Dustin Pedroia, 2B
Grady Sizemore, LF
Mike Napoli, 1B
A.J. Pierzynski, DH
Will Middlebrooks, 3B
Jonny Gomes, RF
Xander Bogaerts, SS
Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
David Ross, C
Jon Lester, LHP
