Lineup: Craig in; Cespedes still en route

BOSTON -- Friday night’s Red Sox lineup features one of the team’s deadline-day additions, but another is out because he is still en route to the ballpark.

Newly acquired Allen Craig is in left field hitting fifth in his Red Sox debut, while outfielder Yoenis Cespedes likely will not arrive in time to make the starting lineup.

All three of the new additions -- Craig, Cespedes and Joe Kelly -- flew into Boston on Friday from the West Coast.

Craig will play left field and hit fifth for the Red Sox, behind Mike Napoli and in front of Xander Bogaerts, who is back at shortstop for the first time since May.

Outfielder Shane Victorino, whom manager John Farrell said might be headed to the disabled list, is out of the lineup, replaced in right field by Brock Holt. And Mookie Betts was called up Friday to play center field, giving Jackie Bradley Jr. the day off.

With Friday’s starter John Lackey traded, Anthony Ranaudo is called up from Pawtucket to make his major league debut.

Also promoted is reliever Tommy Layne. The corresponding roster moves to activate Craig, Ranaudo and Layne are unclear.

Stephen Drew, who was traded from the Red Sox to the Yankees on Thursday, is in the New York lineup, hitting eighth and playing second base.
