BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox announced Friday the signings of eight international free agents.

The Red Sox signed seven pitchers, including right-handers Christopher Acosta, Nicolo Clemente, Jhosmar Cortez, Anderson Espinoza, Junior Espinoza, Roniel Raudes and left-hander Luis Colmenares. Boston also signed third baseman Elwin Tejeda.

Anderson Espinoza and Acosta are the first and third top pitching prospects, respectively, in this year’s international signing period, according to Baseball America.

All eight players are 16 years old and working out at the Red Sox’s Dominican academy in El Toro, DR.
