Coleman among Frick Award finalists
Longtime Red Sox broadcaster Ken Coleman is one of 10 finalists for the 2013 Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually for excellence in baseball broadcasting by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Coleman broadcast for the Red Sox from 1966-74 and 1979-89 in a 35-year career that included work for the Indians (1954-63) and Reds (1975-78).
The winner will be announced Dec. 4 at baseball's winter meetings.
In addition to Coleman, the other finalists are Tom Cheek, Jacques Doucet, John Gordon, Bill King, Graham McNamee, Eric Nadel, Eduardo Ortega, Mike Shannon and Dewayne Staats.
