Reinold out as head physical therapist
By Gordon Edes
Boston Red Sox head physical therapist Mike Reinold will not be back with the team in his current role next season, but has been offered another position in the organization, according to a team source.
Earlier this season, sources both inside and outside the Red Sox told ESPNBoston.com there was some friction within the team on the amount of authority Reinold held.
The Red Sox had 27 players serve 34 stints on the disabled list (for a total of 1,729 days missed), the most for any team since at least 1987.
It is not known whether the friction or the number of injuries suffered by the team played any role in this move.
