Will weather be a factor?
There’s been some local buzz about whether the rain forecast for tonight in Detroit might impact today’s Game 3 of the ALCS, scheduled to begin just after 4 p.m. If the rain comes early and there’s a delay, Sox fans figure, it might impact whether starter Justin Verlander can remain in the game when play resumes.
According to weather.com, there isn’t any chance of precipitation until around 8 p.m., when the percentage jumps to 80 percent (and with a chance of a thunderstorm). Game 1 took just under four hours and Game 2 about three three-and-a-half hours. If Game 3 passes the four-hour mark, there might be a chance of a delay, but as long as the forecast holds weather might not be a problem.
