FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Several members of the World Series champion Boston Red Sox were on hand for a pregame ceremony in the moments leading up to the Patriots Week 9 matchup with the Steelers.
Starting pitcher Jon Lester, who won two games for the Red Sox in the World Series, carried the World Series trophy out of the tunnel used for player introductions and was met with a roar of applause from the Gillette Stadium crowd. He also served as an honorary captain for the game.
