Caron participated in practice at Ristuccia Arena Friday afternoon as the Bruins prepare to host the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at TD Garden. Caron has spent the entire season with the P-Bruins and has scored 10 goals with five assists for 15 points in 44 games, including a minus-6 rating.
Bourque cleared waivers today and he’ll be in the P-Bruins’ lineup against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Friday night at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence.
“This is not a coach’s decision, this is an organization’s decision,” Julien said after Thursday’s 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. “It wasn’t an easy one because we know the type of person Chris is, and he’s a great player. Just because right now we’re waving him, we’re certainly hoping not to lose him and his time here is not over.
“He knows it took a little time to find his game and it was coming around a little bit. He knows his last game [against Washington] wasn’t his best, but when you look at the way he played in Providence, he’s certainly a guy you can’t count off your lineup here. Right now it could just be a bump along the way and if we need a player to be called up, he would be a guy I would have no issues seeing back here.”
Prior to the NHL lockout ending in January, Bourque played 32 games for the P-Bruins and posted eight goals with 20 assists for 28 points.
“He’s going to find his game again, find his confidence,” Julien said. “He’s a good player and maybe playing a little bit more, and getting more confidence there will help him be the player he was before the lockout ended.”
