ESPN Stats and Information provided the following to help put this Bruins-Flyers series in historical perspective as the teams prepare for Friday’s decisive Game 7 at the Garden.

-- With a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series, the Philadelphia Flyers became the fifth different team in NHL history to force a Game 7 after falling behind 3-0 in the series (including the 1975 Islanders, who did it twice).

-- Philadelphia will attempt to become the third NHL team to win a series after facing a 3-0 deficit in Game 7 on Friday night in Boston (the 1975 Islanders and 1942 Maple Leafs are the two who have done it).

-- This is the 17th series in which the Bruins have taken a 3-0 series lead but just the second time Boston has been forced to a Game 7 in such a series (they won Game 7 of the 1939 NHL semifinals against the Rangers).

-- The Bruins’ 3 straight losses have come after a 4-game postseason win streak.

-- Boston allowed its first power play goal on the road this postseason (had killed off all 17 penalties on road in playoffs entering Wednesday).

-- The Flyers are 7-6 all-time in Game 7s. The Bruins are 9-9.
