SUNRISE, Fla. -- Bruins forwards Milan Lucic and Shawn Thornton should be able play Saturday night against the Florida Panthers at BankAtlantic Center after missing Friday's practice with illness.

Both players reported to the rink with the rest of their teammates for the morning skate, which was scrapped in favor of an off-ice workout.

Assuming Lucic and Thornton will play, there will still be one open forward spot to fill with the absence of Miroslav Satan (cut hand). Head coach Claude Julien will pick between Byron Bitz and Vladimir Sobotka at game time.
