BROSSARD, Quebec -- No matter what side you were on, you had to appreciate the goaltending duel that Tim Thomas and Carey Price engaged in during the Bruins’ dramatic 2-1 double overtime win over the Canadiens in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.

Price (49 saves) and Thomas (44) did everything they could to help their team win, but in the end it was Thomas' team who came up with the big goal when Nathan Horton scored at 9:03 of the second OT to give the Bruins a 3-2 series lead.

On Monday, Montreal defenseman PK Subban praised his netminder and promised that he and his teammates would not let Price's brilliant season be wasted. Subban also praised Thomas.

“In my opinion, those are two guys that have been competing in terms of best goaltender in the league all year,” Subban said. “In my mind, our team wouldn’t be in the playoffs without Price, so I don’t think there’s any question that he’s been the best goaltender in the league and he’s had some of the best performances of any goaltender. He just continues to play well, be our best player every night, and at this level that’s tough. We've got to come out with our best performance and help him.”

To Subban, Price's performance in Game 5 was just another day at the office.

“I’m not amazed by it because he’s done it all year,” Subban said. “He’s our best player and we expect that out of him and for us to win, we need that to continue.”
