Recchi in Boston for ceremonies

BOSTON -- Former Boston Bruins assistant captain Mark Recchi returned to town this week and he attended the team’s private ceremony on Tuesday, where the players from the 2010-2011 team received their Stanley Cup rings.

The three-time Cup winner and future Hall of Famer said it’s good to be back in town with the boys and he’s enjoying retirement. Recchi said he received a phone call from Ray Bourque after the Bruins won the Cup and the current Hall of Famer explained what it’s like to go out on top as Bourque did with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001.

Recchi will also participate in the banner raising ceremony prior to the season opener Thursday at the Garden.
