Recchi is Masterton nominee

April, 7, 2010
Bruins forward Mark Recchi was voted as the club's nominee for the 2010 Masterton Trophy by the Boston chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association. The Masterton honors the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

“It’s a great honor obviously," he said. "I kept on plugging along here. And it also means I’m old. But it’s a great honor. There’s some great players that have been awarded this. And it’s a privilege and an honor to play in the NHL still, and I love it, and it’s nice to be recognized.”

Recchi will be one of 30 nominees (one from each NHL team) that will be considered in a vote by all PHWA voters. Three finalists will then be announced and the winner will be presented at the NHL Awards in June in Las Vegas.
