B's recall F Sauve, send G Hutchinson down

BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins have recalled forward Max Sauve on an emergency basis from the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

The Bruins also assigned goaltender Michael Hutchinson to the P-Bruins. Hutchinson was recalled to Boston on March 3 after Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask suffered a groin and abdominal injury. Boston then signed veteran goalie Marty Turco on Monday, and he cleared waivers on Wednesday, sending Hutchinson back to the AHL.

Sauve will be available to play if needed Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden. Currently, Bruins forwards Rich Peverley, Daniel Paille and Benoit Pouliot are all injured. Paille, who skated on his own Wednesday, is unlikely to play Thursday, according to Bruins coach Claude Julien.

Pouliot, who suffered an undisclosed injury during Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, did not practice on Wednesday and is listed as day-to-day.

Sauve has seven goals and 10 assists in 29 games for the P-Bruins this season.
