The NHL announced Monday its weekly Three Stars, and the Boston Bruins’ Zdeno Chara finished second for the week ending April 1.
Chara helped the Bruins clinch their third Northeast Division title in the last four seasons and the second seed in the Eastern Conference. He recorded a total of seven assists in four games last week. Overall, he has 12 goals and 40 assists for 52 points in 77 games this season. He has established career highs in assists and points.
After the team’s 2-1 victory over the top-seeded New York Rangers on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, Bruins coach Claude Julien decided to give the players Monday off before they host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night at TD Garden.
