BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins defeated the Montreal Canadiens in dramatic fashion in Game 7 of the 2011 Eastern Conference quarterfinals on April 27 at TD Garden.
The Bruins’ Nathan Horton scored an overtime goal at 5:43 of the extra period to give Boston a 4-3 victory. It was his second overtime goal of the series. Bruins goalie Tim Thomas made 34 saves, while teammates Johnny Boychuk, Mark Recchi and Chris Kelly netted a goal each.
The Bruins erased an 0-2 deficit in the series to finally win in seven games. Up next for Boston on its way toward the Cup title: The Philadelphia Flyers.
