BOSTON -- A quick roundup of quotes from Celtics' players on not having Kevin Garnett in Tuesday's 103-94 triumph over the Indiana Pacers:

Paul Pierce: "A lot changes. You're talking about a guy who we play our offense through, our leader on defense. I thought it took a second for us to adjust. We said at halftime we weren't talking on defense and usually Kevin leads us in that category as far as talking, being in the spots, having everybody in their spots. I guess it took us a half to realize that Kevin wasn't going to be out there. But we got it together.

"Like I said before, we play through Kevin. This was like last minute, right before the game -- Kevin isn't playing. So it's like, all right, how are we going to approach this game, what are we going to do? We like to go inside-out, then we have players like Rajon [Rondo] and Kevin in the pick-and-roll when things aren't going right. So it's definitely an adjustment.

"The fate of how far we go lies on how healthy Kevin is and our team. So you definitely want him to be all right; from the look of things he’s going to be all right.”

Ray Allen: "That I think was all the stagnation in the first quarter. You’re just used to a certain rhythm, a certain chemistry out there on the floor. Rasheed [Wallace] got in there and just tried to figure out what we’re running. I guess offensively we didn’t have great chemistry early and then we just picked it up. But defensively the reason was truly just not getting back. The defense was a result of the offense. We put them in transition and we didn’t get back so we changed that in the third quarter."

Rajon Rondo: "It is pretty much the same as last year when we didn’t have him to close the season out. Definitely, Kevin has a huge impact when he plays, but we just tried to have guys step in and do a great job, which they did. Rasheed played great for us, [Brian Scalabrine] gave us some great minutes as well."

Rasheed Wallace: "KG's telling me his leg is a little sore, so I knew it was a 50-50 chance, so it's just preparing yourself mentally and I found out about maybe 10 to 20 minutes before our meeting started.

"That’s what you've got to do. It’s a different preparation. You know when you’re coming off the bench you’re looking more at the guys that they have coming off of the bench. At first I was more focused on [substitute Tyler] Hansborough and what they have coming but I had to turn that focus to [starters Roy] Hibbert and [Troy] Murphy and try to do what I can with them."
