BOSTON -- Here’s Dustin Pedroia talking about the results of his CT scan:
-- "I'm happy with the fact that it's healing. I didn't think it would take this long. I know they told me six weeks. I thought I could come back sooner than that, but I guess I have to be smart. If I come back too early and that bone break offs, I'm out for the rest of the year. Just gotta be smart and let it heal."
-- "I’m finally off the crutches, which is a good thing. He [the doctor] said my bone's healing good. There's already something forming back together, but I have to be in this boot for a couple of weeks which stinks. He kind of told me that I can't play until I don't feel anything. I guess that bone could break off. I'm feeling better, man. Hopefully I'll be back out there as soon as I can."
-- "I must have asked him [the doctor] a hundred questions and every question he's looking at me like, 'Listen moron, I just answered that. You gotta chill out.'"
-- "That's the thing I'm going to have a problem with, is lying to them. I'll be honest about it. I don't want to come back too soon, then play three games and then be out the rest of the year. That'd be stupid and it's not gonna help us in the long run."
-- "I've been doing some upper body lifting, some [swim exercising]. You do more stuff when you're hurt than you do before a game."
