Richard Schaeffer of Golden Boy Promotions insists the Shane Mosley-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight will do 3 million buys. It won't, of course, not least because Mosley and Mayweather have essentially the same fan base. But it should do about half that, making it one of the biggest bouts -- in terms of paying viewers -- of all time.

As Mark Taffer of HBO PPV just said to me, within that fan base, this is the Super Bowl of boxing. It's a fight that has been in the making since both guys made their HBO debuts in 1997.
