The Buffalo Bills will hold their second and third organized team activities on Thursday and Friday, and rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins will be excused from the practices.

Watkins will be attending the NFL Players Association's rookie premiere in Los Angeles, an annual promotional event that includes a photo shoot of some of the draft's most recognizable players.

"It’s not his fault that he’s not going to be here the next two days, I wish he was," coach Doug Marrone said Wednesday. "Looking back I made a note that I should have had practice [Tuesday] so I only would have lost him one day. My mistake on that."

Watkins, the Bills' first-round pick this month, saw his first action with second-year quarterback EJ Manuel in Wednesday's OTA.

"He looked good," Marrone said. "Sammy has been doing a nice job."
