(Continuing a month-long series analyzing Buffalo Bills players who are on the roster bubble and where they potentially fit in 2014.)

Name: Marcus Easley

Position: Wide receiver

Age: 26

2013 stats: 16 games (no starts), two catches, 13 yards, 21 special teams tackles

Chance of making 53-man roster: 80 percent

Why he should make it: Among all of our "Bubble Watch" players, Easley is at the top of the heap and the most likely to make the roster this season. He was the Bills' best special teams player last season, recording 21 tackles -- almost twice as many as any other player. Even if Easley doesn't contribute to the Bills' offense he is worth keeping for his impact on special teams. He wasn't the problem with that unit last season.

Why he shouldn't make it: The only reason we'll consider Easley as "on the bubble" is because of a potential squeeze on roster spots at skill positions. The Bills may try to get receivers Chris Hogan and T.J. Graham, as well as fullback Evan Rodriguez, onto their final roster. Each of those players could contribute on special teams and offense. If, for whatever reason, Easley's contributions on special teams this preseason aren't up to snuff, then his roster spot could become tenuous. It's an unlikely scenario but one we'll account for in this space.

Closest competition: Hogan, Graham, Rodriguez
